Officer Takes Live Saving Measures at Shooting

IMG_5143Irwindale Police Department patrol officers responded to the report of a shooting on the 605 Freeway at Lower Azusa Road late Saturday evening, June 5, 2021, along with the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Fire Department. 

Our officers were the first to arrive on-scene and located a male adult motorcyclist in his 30's who had sustained a single gunshot wound to the right leg.  

Officer James Armstrong promptly applied an emergency tourniquet to the victim's leg to control his bleeding. Our officers continued life-saving measures until the paramedics arrived.  

The victm was later taken to the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center by ambulance.

Great work by Officer Armstrong in quickly assessing and treating the gunshot victim until relived by the paramedics.  

This shooting incident is being investigated by the CHP - Baldwin Park and anyone with information on the incident is asked to call them at (626) 338-1164.
