Join the largest book club on the west coast! From April 1 - May 31, 2026, library systems along the west coast will be reading George Takei's graphic novel They Called Us Enemy. In this haunting memoir, Star Trek star George Takei recounts his childhood inside American concentration camps during World War II when the U.S. government imprisoned over 100,000 Japanese Americans. This reading experience celebrates literacy, learning, community, and civil discourse.
Participate by borrowing a free copy from Libby or Hoopla with your Irwindale Public Library card.
*Teens ages 12-17 can receive a free physical copy by registering in person starting April 1 at the Irwindale Public Library.

The Irwindale Senior Center has partnered with L.A. County, powered by Delete the Divide, to offer classes on cybersecurity, computer basics, internet fundamentals, and more.
